How do I recognize forged certificates?

Check the validity of a certificate or test mark in our online database. If you cannot find any information there, you are welcome to contact us personally.

You can easily check some of the authenticity features (selection) of our current certificates and test marks:

Each certificate is printed on special paper and individually numbered
Each certificate has an individual certificate number
Each certificate is signed in the original
Each certificate is provided with a TÜV Saarland hologram
Each certification mark contains a link to our online database
Each certification mark contains an individual certificate number

Prosecution of counterfeiting and misuse of the TÜV trademark

The TÜV trademark is the trademark of the TÜV companies and may only be used by a TÜV or a subsidiary. Like all well-known trademarks, the TÜV trademark is also misused. Be it through ignorance or intent. We have made it our mission to support authorized parties and to point out the correct use of the TÜV trademark and to take consistent action against the deliberate misuse of our trademark. That is why we are also a member of the TÜV Markenverbund e.V. based in Berlin. It is a community of technical inspection associations created in 2010. It supports its members in exercising the rights to the TÜV brand with the aim of ensuring the preservation of the brand value through globally comprehensive and permanent monitoring.
